Terms and Conditions

Last updated: April 11, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Salvia API platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and Pro tier subscribers.

2. Description of Service

Salvia provides a set of machine learning API endpoints for natural language processing tasks including sentiment analysis, spam detection, and text summarisation. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.

3. API Keys and Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key. Do not share your API key publicly or embed it in client-side code. Any usage under your API key is your responsibility. If you believe your key has been compromised, revoke it immediately from your dashboard.

4. Use of Submitted Data

By submitting data to the Salvia API, you grant Salvia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and process that data for the following purposes:

  • Providing and operating the Service.
  • Improving the performance and accuracy of existing models.
  • Training new machine learning models and developing new capabilities.
  • Internal research and quality evaluation.

You warrant that you have the right to submit any data you send to the API and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law. Do not submit sensitive personal data, protected health information, or data subject to confidentiality obligations.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Submit harmful, illegal, or rights-infringing content.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or exploit the underlying models or infrastructure.
  • Resell or redistribute API access without prior written consent.
  • Circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions.

6. Plans, Billing, and Refunds

Salvia offers a free tier and a Pro tier. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. All charges are non-refundable except where required by law. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Downgrading or cancelling your plan takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Rate Limits and Fair Use

Each plan is subject to request rate limits as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts that exceed limits or abuse the Service, with or without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All models, code, documentation, and branding associated with Salvia are the intellectual property of Salvia. Nothing in these terms grants you ownership of any Salvia IP. You retain ownership of the content you submit via the API.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that model outputs will be accurate. Use of model outputs in production systems is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salvia shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you breach these terms. You may terminate your account at any time via your dashboard settings.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the dashboard.
